Hurricaine Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in August, 2005. One year later there is an enormous need for help. This banner was presented to attract site surfers to the efforts of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN)program to have their members Volunteer in New Orleans.

As the campaign rolled forward, additional banners were presented to raise awareness for the Elect Willie Lambert for CAW National President Campaign. The Canadian Auto Worker 8th Constitutional Convention was scheduled in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for August 15 to 18, 2006.
Efforts to raise awareness extended to Canadian content pages and to international content pages. These banners were presented to capture the attention of Canadian Auto Workers on vacation. Hundreds of pages carried these banners in support of the Willie Lambert election campaign.
Finally, some banners were modified on the last days to emphasize the urgency of supporting the drive.

Modified Elect Willie Lambert banners like these mentioned that there was little time left to take action.

The initial full-sized Elect Willie Lambert banners like these introduced the campaign to our site visitors.

The nationwide call to boycott the Peugeot car makers product got well underway. Protests were taken to the London Auto Show by the AMICUS and TGWU unions. Additional banners were presented in support of their campaign to raise awareness.

The European Metalworkers Federation lead the charge against GM Euorpe management who issued statements that announced their departure from Western Europe. Small protests at many GM facilities resulted in the employer losing more than 40 hours of production per week overall. A popup page and banner were presented in support of the campaign to raise awareness.

British car-buyers are urged to boycott Peugeot-Citroen by two major unions, TGWU and Amicus, because the car-maker decided to move one of its factories from Britain. Workers are angry at plans to move Peugeot production from Ryton near Coventry to Slovakia, with the loss of 2,300 UK jobs. People in the market should think hard before buying any Peugeot brand cars.
Peugeot demonstrates its sense of corporate dominance over the workers by rubbing British people's noses in it. The company is making great strides to alienate anyone who will not submit to their business plan. Even though purchasers of the Peugeot 207 will be tainted by the shame of shareholder greed the dealerships continue plans to offer the product for sale.
When surfers clicked the modified banner on the left hand side, they were directed to the Amicus website, while right side clickers were directed to the T&G website.

US based capitalists keep US lumber prices artifically high in order to gouge the home buyers during their current real estate bubble frenzy. In order to perpetrate this consumer exploitation and fraud, the Bush administration continued to violate their NAFTA agreement with Canada. Now they use their dainty, the Canadian Prime Minister Stéphane Harper to offer the forestry industry a silly 'new' agreement that violates common sense. In Ontario Canada, the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union, CEP represented forestry worker jobs are under attack. Before the nationwide worker retaliation gets underway, the CEP union started the Labour Adjustment Committee. The LAC provides assistance to ALL displaced forest-sector workers, hourly and salaried, laid off from saw mills and pulp & paper mills.

This is an update from the 2002 banner that signals no support for the right wing in France.

This banner was presented to provide support for the International Labour Organization Initiative. This year, the focus of the campaign is child labour elimination. This year the slogan is: The End of Child Labour: Within Reach

In Canada, the New Democratic Party has announced its intention to displace the rabid neo-cons in the next federal election. All donations are welcome!

The failure of the UAW leadership to represent their membership came as no surprise to Canadian autoworkers, who months earlier had been victims of the collapse of their own union, the Canadian Auto Workers or CAW. The polite Canadian unionists allowed the CAW to publicly save face and 'withdraw' from their socialist party, the National Democratic Party (NDP). It was clear to all concerned that the CAW would be forced out of the Canadian labour central, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) then summarily disposed of through a series of co-ordinated raids by the other CLC affiliates. The future for the 20 year old union looked grim as they had failed to protect their members from the auto makers assault.
Willie Lambert rose to the occasion. As a longtime unionist supporting the NDP, Willie
threw his hat in the ring to run as National President of the CAW. His participation might
convince the socialist oriented unionists, set on dismantling the concessionary CAW and
its program of giving away the Canadian auto jobs, that there is still hope of recovery.

The UAW leadership in Detroit made it clear that all they had to offer their membership was a way to become unemployed. They had no plan for local strikes, no plan to occupy the production plants, no plan to engage other unions in a large scale withdrawl of labour. This was clear to each and every member. The Soldiers Of Solidarity became more popular as their call for the workers to stand together against the auto makers attacks was taken up.

The university and high-school students were able to mobilize millions of supporters, which when massed in the streets across the county, brought things to a standstill. The Chirac government was powerless to change the first-job employment provisions for young people.

A banner was presented in support of non-unionized workers at a Canadian Progressive Online Service.

Global Unions has developed a campaign to help encourage national unions to participate in the fight against HIV / AIDS. Now that the International Organisation of Employers (IOC) has joined the effort, a united mobilization against this worldwide pandemic has begun. Fighting HIV/AIDS Together is the slogan used by the joint effort of unions and employers to combat this disease and its consequences.

Thousands of wild mustangs that freely roamed the American plains were imperilled in early 2005. Due to U.S. Federal spending cuts, many of these majestic creatures were slated for death. Many animals over the age of 10 years were placed on the auction block. Several horses were sold for as little as $50.00. Some of these auctioned horses were moved to slaughter houses and processed for meat.
Thankfully, a small group of animals were bought at auction and moved out of the United States to a horse training farm in Ontario, Canada. Mr. Randy Bird, Canada's own horse whisperer has taken on some of these horses and has demonstrated their trainability and usefulness, contrary to the U.S. governments' opinions used to justify their now commuted death sentences.
Concern and outrage at this husbandry failure brought Bill Ford of Ford Motor Company to join the rescue effort. By immediately laying claim to hundreds of horses, the automobile manufacturer has definitely saved those animals from the butchers' block. In May, 2005 an outreach campaign was launched online with Take Pride In America to engage the general public to donate to this worthy cause.

These banners were presented to provide support for the International Labour Organization Initiative. This year, the focus of the campaign is child labour in mines and quarries. This year the slogan is: A Load Too Heavy - child labour in quarrying and mining

Agitators and provocateurs propagandized that rejection of directive can only mean the
defeat the treaty. The saner mainstream immediately responded with a campaign to clearly
uncouple these two. A widespread blitz ensued clarifying that elimination of the Bolkestein
Directive was completely compatible with the acceptance of the EU constitution. Our
banner was quickly modified and re-posted to reflect this viewpoint. Then that banner was
modified further and re-posted together with the Vote YES banners.
