In preparation for National Volunteer Week, April 27- May 3, 2003 the Points of Light
Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network have called on citizens to conduct volunteer
projects in honor of those whose lives were lost as a result of the September 11 terrorist
attacks.
The Unity in the Spirit of America Initiative, USA Initiative, is identifying and organizing at least 5,000 volunteer service projects across the United States, each in tribute to one of the victims of the September 11 attacks.

President's Call to Service. These Washington, DC based organizations
have programs available for individuals and communities.

At noon today the U.S. president urged the online community to keep giving. Even though the lines are busy, he asked his fellow American to continue trying to give.
